I certainly wouldn't hire anyone on the strength (or not hire them on the weakness) of what they type in a forum like this one, where good grammar, syntax, and orthography are the exception rather than the rule. It is, after all, close to a "chat" environment. The only problem is that people from anywhere can find and examine any comments made by anyone here. If I thought my boss could see and evaluate what I say here, ten years or twenty from now, out of any relevant context, of course, I'd be very careful ... Of course, I won't likely have a boss ten or twenty years from now.
Oh, and by the way, in general, I still believe that the term "software engineering" is an oxymoron. The Germans and the Japanese have proven it doesn't have to be so, but here in the U.S, we're not fond of applying the principles which we've developed. RE |
