Had a bad day today pretty fed up with working for pointy haired bosses who have absolutly no idea of what they are talking about and rely on 'management speak' to cover up their astonding incompeteance, I am sure its not just engineering where management is increasingly stupid,often with no engineering background asking things of their staff which are clearly badly thought out and intended purely to further their careers,knowing as they do that by the time their bad desisions come home to roost they will have moved on having spent the interveining time sucking up to the directors.
Time was when your boss actualy knew his arse from his elbow because he had worked his way up the ranks rather then because he has an MBA and he is the managing directors golden boy.
Also fed uo with having to explain to people what engineers do and why their washing machine repeair man isnt an engineer.
The last two places I have worked the career structure depended on wether you licked the right arse.
