Managment maybe Stupid from this side of the coin.
I am sure they think well of us from their. I have worked for Former Enginners that forgot how long and hard some tasks are. They can be no better. It always looks easy when someone else is doing it. I would not like the bosses job either. They have there own issues ( Ever here you Bosses, Boss complianing how much his job sucks? Wait I thought your job was to make my life dificult). When they can not regulate work flow and schedauls properly. That is bad. They expect the enginners to pull a rabbit out of a hat. When the buisness plan becomes pulling rabbits from hats. "Stupid is as stupid does". They get to choose the projects that get done and the features they will have. If they get over ambitious, life sucks for all. (too much work, not enough cash flow) That said I had a very bad day yesterday also. I picked the only test station without an Isolator ( why do I have to order everything), while Testing Firmware that should have been validated weeks ago, but I have not been given the time. half the day spent figuing out how many things I fried. One is my laptop Serial Port, I have been asking for a new one anyway, it is a 7 year old handme down, Now I am getting a new one, but when will I have time to find and reinstall all the software and drivers , plus buying that stuff I can not find, or will not work on XP. And Isolators Everything gets them,I am tossing all the old converter away. Thank IO Gear for USB to serial converter or I could not finish. It is all late, all due now, and if I could work on the stuff under MY job title I might finish stuff on time!! Today: Finish (somewhat) testing the firmware, The changes work. Filled out paper work. Done for now. Tommorrow: Have to be in early to show some how click a button ( In case they have a problem. I see how Blogs get started. |
