#129943 - They do determine what you have to deliver ... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Lynn,
First of all, have a look at <http://www2.okisemi.com/site/data...ro=search> That's the fastest version of the part that I've found still in production. If you (Lynn) can deliver a part that's faster, stronger, etc, with all outputs driven, then more power to you. To satisfy Erik, it would have to operate from the fastest bus cycle his MCU can produce, and, even then, well, ... To satisfy me, it would not only have to operate as fast as the DS89C450 can use it with no extension on the bus cycle, aside from the extra 1 clock delay associated with any external DATA memory cycle, and it would have to sink and source at least 6 mA with all outputs loaded. If you can satisfy either, you might have something. It doesn't matter what Intersil does. If you have a process and a fab that can support it, that will perform like that, then you have something and people will buy it. However, you can't reasonably claim that just because you've "characterized" one Intersil part, you have a spec on which one can rely. First of all, you probably didn't drive all 24 outputs and the bus port at the same time. Secondly, you probably didn't test it at high temperature or at low temperature. Just what DID you do? RE |
