#127114 - Value? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

The cost of purchase is $75 plus whatever it costs to have several engineers put projects on the back burner while waiting for the software to arrive. Actually, this one is a down load - so not an issue here! If you need it now, you knock off a quick hack and get back to work. But there is a big difference between a "quick hack" to solve just one specific requirement, and a general tool that anyone could pick up and use. Yes, I have plenty of little utilities that I've knocked up, and some have grown to be a lot more than just a "quick hack". "I feel a certain kind of pity for people who equate value with money." Conversely, there is a certain naivety in failing to recognise the value of the effort that has to be put in to getting something "for free" It would certainly have taken more that $75 worth of my time to get the same functionality as this - so I found it good value. "No offense meant, that's just my point of view." Quite so. I just offered it as a suggestion - you can take it or leave it. |
