At $75 I hope it does more than just monitor 2 com ports. Like make tea and remind you to stop for milk on the way home.

If all you need to do is capture serial port data, the software to do so is almost trivial. At my former job, I whipped out a program to do that in an hour or two. I also have picsnoop for DOS, Windoze, and Linux designed to capture serial communications between MPLAB and a PicStart Plus programmer. It's free code. Let me know if you want it.
