I recently bought this for monitoring the serial coms on a PC's serial port:

I've been using it as a "software" monitor, spying on the COM driver level within the PC

But it does have a mode that's supposed to "loop-through" 2 COM ports, so that you can spy "external" serial coms.
I haven't really tried that yet (I use the Bonusdata one for that).

It's supposed to work with 2 USB-to-Serial converters...
