I think its symptomatic of a general change in society,it seems to be in places where the whole instant gratifcation and consumerism of western society havent taken hold quite as much they are still able to uphold standards and I think it can be seen on this message board where we get people posting stuff like 'someone tell me how to make my project,how to design it and so on because I cannot be bothered to think it out for myself'
I think its typified by an article that I read today about NASA engineers going back to the old apollo designs for inspiration for the next generation of moon landers, and bringing retired engineers back as consultants. |
