What we need is not a dismantling, but a return to the principles upon which this country was founded. Instead, what we have now is a society driven by massive greed, selfishness, and idiots who think that "God" tells them personally how things should be. What we need and what we get are usually two quite different things. The West is driven by economics and that will be its downfall. You already see the effects in the export of jobs to the developing world. 25 years ago it was manufacturing that was exported to the developing world and the West embraced it and made money out of it - look at electronics manufacture in Mexico, China and Taiwan. But look at all the manufacturing jobs no longer left in the West. Now more skilled jobs are being exported, no doubt we will embrace this and make some more money out of it and leave a load more folk on the scrapheap. What's next. The developing world gets richer and starts to create its own markets as ours decline because we no longer create the wealth to buy (just look at the mobile phone market in China). Eventually the West becomes the developing world. Ian |
