I did point out the error to several of the contributors, but, though they said they'd look into it and get back to me, they didn't.

Xilinx also has published a couple of "app notes" that define Manchester code exactly the opposite of the IEEE 802.3 standard.

Frankly, I've never relied on the Wikipedia, and have always felt obliged to corroborate whatever I find there, often finding it inconsistent with other, seemingly more reliable sources, hence, I've not involved myself.

I guess everyone has the right to be wrong ... even the Wikipedia.
