#119461 - I think such should be considered in thi Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Only registered users could post a FAQ entry and every FAQ entry would have a link that would allow any registered user to submit observations/corrections directly to the author even if the user's account is configured not to allow that. I.e., posting a FAQ would indicate that the author is willing to receive mail about that FAQ via the system. That is, his email wouldn't be exposed, but members could submit corrections/comments via 8052.com that would be sent to the author and cc'd to me.
That anyone posting a FAQ entries should be willing to accept e-mails on it should be a given. I think that FAQs should be held to a higher standard than forum postings, but that does not mean that there is a reason for all to read "in your FAQ entry you said LCD display, that will read Liquid Crystal Display display" OK, I do not think I have a suggestion, but the two things that come to mind from recent forum posts is a) that Kai and I agreed that there would never be a concensus on cable shield and b) someone posted "to drive LEDs you must multiplex (my emphasis). Both would lead to 'faulty' FAQ answers and, while I have no idea how to avoid them, I think such should be considered in this discussion. Now to get it right withoutb lenghty forum discussions there should be a "new FAQ, write the author if you have a problem" presentatition somewhee for all to see for the first week(s) of a FAQs existence.
