The people who post the daftest questions are not the people who will have the circumspection to review previous postings - thats like using "search", so I say again, how will they learn, since, by their own actions they are dis-inclined to follow your logical course.

fill the new posting entry window with HUGE letters in grey that read "have you searched"

Typing in such a window without searching would be a strong indicator of the 'daftness' of the poster. On that background the answers to such posts could be limited to SEARCH.
