I looked the pricing up on the Silabs website. The fact that they advertise such enormously excessive pricing probably explains why I don't know anyone using their parts.

Volume-produced products using 805x MCU's often market for less than $20. If the mfg tells you their 805x scion costs $15@q10k when Samsung tells you their ARM-core parts cost $7@q100, it's not hard figuring out what to use.
