When i use a large value of capacitor for filtering it leads to decrease the capacitive reactance (Considering the frequency as 120 HZ(60 HZ mains)).
For a 5000 uFD cap the reactance comes to .2 ohm

In my case, i shunted a 5000 uFd cap before the LM 338 (Variable voltage regulator).
Will this not reduce the current flow to the regulator?
