WIMA MP3 caps show a dissipation factor of tan_delta < 0.01. So, equivalent series resistance of 220nF/MP3 cap is Resr = 0.01 / (w x C) = 145 Ohm. 15.9mAeff current will cause a heat dissipation of only about P = 15.9mAeff ^2 x 145Ohm = 37mW.
A resistance of 14.5kOhm, which provides the same current limiting as a 220nF cap would dissipate 3.7W, on the other hand, which is 100 times more!
