Once again you are "right on the money". I have 2 pad NOPs per pix. I did do a 320x240 version of the video, but i have been reluctant to implement beyond 32 - 8 pixel wide characters. This is due to: 1)generality for target TV (i;m using the least expensive i can find). 2)Testing of the addition of a Shift Reg/FIFO combo that would be less dependent upon DS'4x0 (this is my bow to self-conciousness when over-clocking the DS). Where pix clock would be 5.5296MHZ. This would allow more generality for the '52 variant that could be used (but the target is DS'4x0). 3)32 is a nice round number for integrating an external Frame Buffer using PAGE MODE 1. When using this mode with a struct at even page address, and a pointer with post-increment, you place the (additional mem cycle penalty for new page addrs) to a start of line position that you can anticipate and accomodate in the timing. regards, p |
