#102778 - Predko Video Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Jeff,
I've got the Predko book, haven't been to his site in a while. The video described in his book (which was a contributing inspiration for my work) is extremely low resolution TEXT Mode monochrome using a video modulator. Also it had no provision for I/O. You had to ROM the 4 char by 4 char line presentation data. He max'd his DS'520 doing it as well. The ongoing work is baseband NTSC, monochrome, 256x192, resulting in a square addressable pixel. This is due to the DS'420 and its reduced cycle instructions, clock multiplier, the enhanced DPTR capability, and a very different algorithm. Keep in mind the platform model is not an 8052 PC-compatible. Instead, it's simple but contemporary hardware and software technology implementing a "package" like the pre-PC platforms of old. Maybe you remember them, the ones that were "fun". regards, p |
