#102877 - TRS80 model 1 speed... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
But, it was a Z80 processor, couldn't have been that fast... The model I was pretty slow. I think it was slightly less than 2 Mhz. It was a noisy piece of HW. You could play sounds thru a neaby AM radio with some clever programming. I think the model III had a Z80A, which could clock as fast as 4Mhz. Z80's have been getting the same treatment the MCS51 family has. Higher clock speeds and more effecient issue. The current eZ80 clocks at 50Mhz, which with effeciency improvements equates to roughly a 150Mhz original Z80. 25 years since I first looked at them... I still hate all the 8080 derivatives... Ugly little architecture. Rob |
