The original 8051-core had neither an in-system-programmable flash memory nor these tricky POR and BOR circuitries today's clones have. But all these flash code memory corruption issues have to do with the implemented flash memory plus the ISP feature (with internal generation of programming high voltage) plus the POR and BOR circuitry which shall prevent the micro from running ill at power up and power down. If you want information about proper power up slope rates then you must not look at the original 8081 core but at the today's available 8051-clones from Silabs, TI, MAXIM (Dallas), AD, Atmel, Philips, etc.
