Dear members,
I have been working succesully with the Silabs part in a 900 MHz RF modem. But I found some curiosity that could be useful for others. The fact is that, with the board working, I was touching (with bare fingers) some parts (Xtal, MCU, etc), just checking temperature, ability for eventual recovery from oscillator stop, etc. When touching pin 6 (XTAL1, input, high impedance) the clock stops. But, sometimes, with everything connected to ground (even my body), the program stops and it does not start even after recycling power! It is necessary to reprogram the part. It seems that the flash got corrupted by some high voltage spike and/or 50Hz hum. Solution: cover the Xtal and pin6 area with plastic weldind rod. I have never seen something like this with other MCUs. Best regards Daniel |
