#182293 - relay matrix?
Responding to: ???'s previous message

8x8 electromechanical display - often used on busses or similar

I haven't seen one of them in years! They've all been replaced by LED or other electronic displays

Basingstoke bus with LED display
Basingstoke station with LED displays (in the middle distance)

http://www.railway-technology.com/contracto...otec2.html

They are great for signs that doesn't have to change contents too often since they consume zero power in their steady state.

True. But electronic equivalents are now available; eg, http://www.kentdisplays.com/

But 8x8 relays sounds meaningless since a matrix can't drive all 64 concurrently - you either drive one row at a time or one column at a time. And what use would the relays be then?

Perhaps he does want a 1-of-64 selector...?

It appears you need latching relays            01/01/70 00:00
Latching relay is still slow            01/01/70 00:00
You're right, but the relay spec's should reveal that            01/01/70 00:00
