#161672 - Explaining to beginners
Responding to: ???'s previous message

I dont know is this incorrect or not (in relation to specifications) but this exist in real ("household" ?) PC world. And is correct to be explained to begginers.

So, what needs to be explained to beginners is that these "shortcut" techniques work by luck - not by design.

The beginner needs to understand that the best they can hope for is that they will work in most cases - therefore it must be expected that they will fail in some cases

So, if you're using one of these shortcuts and it's not working - that is only to be expected; it is only doing what it promised.

If you want to be sure that it will work - use only a proper RS232 transceiver.
