#188834 - Power MOSFET drive and 5V ADC Responding to: ???'s previous message |
There are plenty of reasons to choose 5V - most Automotive suppliers grasp this.
We need to properly drive Power MOSFETs, and read 5V Sensors. - Very simple with a 5V part, but a royal pain from 3v3. Nuvoton have 5V 32 bit parts, Fujitsu have 5V 32 bit parts, Atmel have a couple of 5V 32 bit parts, the new Renesas RX200 & RX100 are all 5V (1.62-5.5V).... That makes a 3.3V-only part look like a Dinosaur, and certainly NOT going to make much traction into 8 bit sockets... Given many other vendors understand this, NXP look out of touch here. |
