#180833 - not those in recent history
Responding to: ???'s previous message
There was no mention of macro processing in the last version of KEIL I examined. I haven't looked at KEIL in probably a decade, since, then, I was misled, by one of their tech support droids, into believing that they (the vendors of the KEIL products) were a bunch of duplicitous idiots.

I started looking at IAR's, but haven't had time for the details. There are numerous others, though. Both the ones to which you refer are ridiculously costly for one-off use. Maybe for someone like you, who writes HLL code for a living and has to dig into the details of these tools. I don't use high-cost tools because I don't want my clients to be stuck with a high-cost compiler that he'll only use if my work has to be revisited. It doesn't happen often enough to warrant the cost. If I use such tools, it forces them to come back to me, and, while they routinely do that, I don't want them to be forced into it. After all, I've been trying to retire for the past 20 years.
