#180821 - What's up with that??? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Not only have they totally skipped over writing code in ASM, but they've estimated the lines of code rather one-sidedly.
When my company's output was as much software as hardware, I routinely expected 1k lines of fully documented, properly coded (formatted and commented) apparently bug-free code per programmer per week. The numbers on their charts don't reflect anything like that. When I was last in an aerospace/defense company, which was, admittedly, many years ago, but where they did rely mostly on HLL, they still looked for numbers like that, despite the fact they charged the government about $35 per line, and didn't include documentation, etc. I've got to say, I'm not impressed with the numbers in that article.
