#173526 - That's what scares me ...
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I've observed really crazy behavior with notebook batteries. What scares me is that it's the same technology that's purportedly being applied to electric and/or hybrid vehicles.

I have two LiIon-battery-powered notebooks, each battery costing about $200US, yet once I install a new battery, it's seldom more than 90 days (just after the warranty expires) that the battery starts "giving up" after less than an hour's use. Normally, they're supposed to work for 4-6 hours, 4 when using WiFi and 6 when not, and they do that at first. The battery packs for one car I considered, I believe it was the Tesla Roadster, cost $17200. I'd hate to have to replace that every three months!

What's going on with this type of battery?
