#169621 - why I want to program 8748's..... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Thanks to everyone who replied.....
I probably should have explained the background behind my request... I have several 8748's and 8749H's left over from projects I designed in the '80's. I also have an Intel 8052ah-BASIC chip that I never used. Having time on my hands these days, I thought I would make a programmer out of the 8052-BASIC chip, since it has PROG commands already. And I DO know how to do it with a parallel port etc., in fact I have designed EPROM programmers before(published in Electronics Today International)and have all the databooks etc. for the 8748/49 (and the original Intel 8052AH-BASIC manual), the reason for asking about the Elektor PCB is simply because I have a copy of the article and thought it would be quicker to use their PCB as a starting point. Thinking about it again, I would have to wire the on-board EPROM socket up to an external 8748 socket anyway because the pinouts are so different, so the Elektor PCB probably won't save much work. I'll just knock up a circuit with the 8052AH-BASIC chip on Veroboard or something. (I threw out all my wire-wrap stuff years ago, unfortunately.) By the way, if anyone is interested I also have five Intel 8031AH's. Geoff |
