WHY ON EARTH make a programmer for a chip he can't even buy any more. The 'programmer' will cost him more to make than a modern chip

All of my programmers will program 8748/49 ... I'd never need a PCB. I did point out that he could do it with a PC parallel port and some logic. Clearly he doens't know how to do it but figures the Elektor board does ...
