All sort of ways - how the languages were "created", all the different languages which traces can be found in them, why they became so popular, how they are still changing, the ambigousity of some of the "keywords", the "environmental" influences etc.

And, I have the same difficulty of getting a grasp of both of them; but that might be just coincidental.
