#156849 - Making parts available in Asia Responding to: ???'s previous message |

After all its not that hard for companies to make available their products ex-stock to at least 40-50 demanding countries! , with great growth rates? I have been working on problems with international sales, and have a few questions about the ideas presented by AP Charles: 1. What is wrong with distribution? Ap Charles did not like Arrow. Is the price too high? Are the parts not in stock? Are the minimum volumes too high? All of the above? 2. Postage for direct mail for a .5kg package from the US to almost anywhere in Asia is 9.85 USD., and it takes about 10 days for it to get there It this too high a price for shipping? Are there additional problems with customs regarding the importation of microcontrollers? Is 10 days too long? 3. Ap Charles suggested that companies establish a presence in 40-50 countries. Even with a physical presence in each country, there is no guarantee that the presence would be in a convenient city for physical delivery. Again, for most customers, it gets back to either mail (cheap and slow) or courier (fast and expensive) for delivery. Do I have to establish a walk-in store in every city in the world? If not, how do you get your parts now? I am currently mailing parts internationally, but I have been talking with distributors about carrying my products. |
