Over the past year, how many new designs have used the 8051 including those used as a core?
Any guesses/estimates? In what domains would 8051 compete against the ARM Cortex-M3? RM ARM? is too far away, it's having tough competitions from other 8-bitters aswell . The non serious attitude of most of the 8051 derivative manufacturers in channelizing there sales overseas, and making availble their parts exstocks like the ARM and AVR guys are doing . More scaring is handing over their sales to candidates like ARROW ELECTRONICS, who cares a S@#t (sorry) about their customers .The days arnt too far when application which requires a simple 8bitter will be over taken by candidates like ARM and AVR . -Ap |
