#156750 - There are many many coonsiderations... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
There are many considerations that are made regarding the choices folks make when selecting an MCU for a particular design. Andy mentioned a few of them in his reply but there are others as well.
Your questions are posed as if to imagine that there are two types of MCUs to consider. Of course this would be the farthest thing from the truth and in the end I would propose a few things to think about: = There are so many MCU types/makers in the market place because it is a profitable field to be in. = There are so many MCU applications that it is clear that a broad range of types may be needed to fulfill the range of applications requirements. = More often than not MCU type selection for a specific application has little to do with the technical fit and more to do with emotional and economic issues driven by familiarity, schedule, availability, price, and leverage.
