It may or may not be "significant", but it's certainly there - as I noted here: http://www.8052.com/forumchat/read.phtml?id=153350

Probably the simplest scheme to manage is to use something like the Maxim "silicon serial number"...

Or, if you bought-in a readymade solution, that would probably do it for you.
