#153008 - Old OS is a slow OS Responding to: ???'s previous message |
A fresh install of Windows has benefits over a restore of all the accumulated crud, which no amount of routine maintenance can clear out. Thats another fundamental truth. Despite constant defragging, tuning up registry with a plethora of software, the slowdown of Windows over a period of year or so is inevitable. Actually just before my notebook was compromised with a virus, it was starting to slow down ( 14 months old) Now that I did a fresh recovery and reinstalled the OS, the C-Drive is loaded to the same level as before but the notebook responds in a jiffy. I know even this will pass but let me enjoy the fast notebook till then ! Raghu |
