I previously mentioned that it took more than a day to do the daily backups. That was at 100 Mbps. I don't know how you'll manage over the internet.

I finally managed with ultra-wide SCSI shared between two computers.
The bottleneck was the 100 Mbps link, though, as the backup went to a memory disk (buffer) of 512MB and from there to a UWSCSI RAID. I suspect that the online backup facilities have the same sorts of problems, as the WAN access to NAS is inherently statistical.
