I thought I had a FAQ on this - it will be coming.

1) DO NOT turn the bus on the serial interrupt. "the bible" clearly states that transmission is not over when the interrupt comes.
2) if you do not have a record format that makes the receiver know when the last byte is recieved, it will not work.
