#133374 - The turtle moves!
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Ah my favourite writter :) He actually plays a LOT with language, stretching it and bending it like L-space. That is why he is almost imposible to be translated correctly to another language without something being lost in translation.

For example, and related to our thread, taken from "Guards, Guards":
The Patrician nodded. "I shall deal with the matter momentarily, " he said. It was a good word. It always made people hesitate. They were never quite sure whether he meant he'd deal with it now, or just deal with it briefly. And no-one ever dared ask.

or from "Man at Arms":
It's bad enough barging into Guild property, but we'll get into really serious trouble if we shoot anyone. Lord Vetinari won't stop at sarcasm. He might use' – Colon swallowed – 'irony.

The turtle moves!

Best luck,
CM
