 		 #112766 - CD 4541BC = Alternative for ICM 7555?

Hello Kai,
I managed to open a dispensing unit in my place, and i saw this component(CD4541BC - Programmable Timer) being used in the board.
On referring the datasheet, i got some understanding on its pin functions but not quite clear of whether i could use it as a replacement of ICM7555 since, i couldnt see any application circuits in the datasheet that could help me understand the functioning of the IC and thereby make use of it. So if possible can you let me know on its suitability to use in the circuit you have given me?
Also details on how the timer programming could be achieved could be helpful.
