yes fine. It does the same as of my 555 circuit. also avoids the need for any debounce circuit.

nice alternative for 555.
having compensated debounce internally(thus reducing the components usage), i think it would be nice to use it for producing pulses of short duration of the order of mSec so that one could escape from the disadvantages mentioned by you.
