It remains in the 'ON' state continuously. Then you have very probably killed the output transistor during experimenting: If you short-circuit the output, the output transistor providing high voltage becomes damaged and looks like a short circuit. Then afterwards, the output shows high voltage all the time. Check the circuit with a fresh 555. And use Charles' trigger circuit! Kai |
