Take care, datasheet tells, that only 116kbps is guaranteed for the MAX233A! By the way, it's not at all a good idea to run a RS232 loop by higher transmission rates than 115kbps. For higher rates a much faster slew rate would be needed, but right this must not be, because of the lack of proper cable termination.
