Hi,

Thanks for your replies. Couldn't reply earlier due to a bad net connection.

Well, in the meantime I have done what Andy asked me to do. I used the hyperterminal to display text on my LCD and I could do it successfully at a baud rate of 4800.

I typed in NMEA sentences in the hyperterminal and got proper display on the LCD.

But when I connect the GPS module to the uC, I am not even able to detect the '$' sign in the beginning of each sentence...
