What compiler are you using? I've got some Keil C serial io code you can use. Hopefully it might help you along some.

This was one of my recent development efforts that was intended for distribution on a 'token' payment basis. I've just had it made abundantly clear, over at comp.arch.embedded, that all my 8051 code is "amateurish crap", and that it won't ever generate a cracker. That evidently being the consensus, then you might as well have this product of my painstaking coding efforts gratis.

I hope it will be a useful code module for your library, and that it will serve you for many years to come. If you e-mail me privately, then I might be able to fix you up with some okay LCD driver code too.

Hmm...sounds like you're doing some interesting work with the GPS receiver, Sonia. Let us hear how it all works out, won't you?
