#177210 - Good advice... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Per,
Yes, what you are advising me to do does make a lot of sense. When confronted with criticism, it does pay to put one's ego into neutral, and to invite often more knowledgeable individuals to share their very valuable wisdom. Someone like me has a lot to gain from such a strategy. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of those situations. I've very foolishly marched my subsidised code contributions into a commercial spam hater's feeding frenzy, and with the now obvious result. The consensus of negative opinion about my coding abilities concerned the quality of unseen code that has yet to see the light of day. - It might be close to free code, but it still costs some money. Therefore, it's rubbish source and the author is a certain twit. Never mind. I've learned a big lesson about how public code contribution is actually received, and I think I've done my last batch of that. All too often it had brought me nothing but misery, so I don't think that I'll personally be missing it a whole lot. Thanks again for the good advice, Per. Regards, Murray R. Van Luyn. |
