The band won because the judge rightly invoked the Moron In A Hurry notion. Basically, the nobody is going to confuse a punk band from New Jersey with an internal plumbing-fixtures manufacturer. Furthermore, the band never represented itself as being said plumbing-fixtures company, nor did the band ever manufacture or sell bathroom fixtures.

Funny aside 1: a couple of other punk bands have names referencing plumbing fixtures: Regulator Watts, Admiral.

Funny aside 2: my pals came across a Christian emo-rock band called New American Standard (taken from, of all things, the Bibles of the same name). They considered action to get the Xtian rockers to change their name, because they did not want their fans to think that all of a sudden they found God and started to suck (because New American Standard really sucked). They ultimately decided against it, mainly because they'd broken up.
