I see a window for MIPS architecture, since there's an open-source core that works on popular FPGA's. When people start using that more, the software support for it will increase in quantity and quality.
when actual quantity buying people that want quality tools and are willing to pay (a lot if required) for them the software support for it will increase. That a whole lot of "open source" "free tools" small quantity people (at least one of who prefer assembler) start using something has ZERO market effect. Erik |
