I saw that in the data sheet, and in the user manual. The memory map isn't very forthcoming on the absolute addresses and structure, but it was enough to get by. The startup.a51 was part of what was helpful and lead me down that road.

As far as speed, this thing only has to deal with frequency of 5KHz maximum and its running at 12MHz clock with hardware I2C interface to all daughter IC's. But your right, it worked itself out and if it didn't.......you know I'd come an ask!
