#173480 - There are many types of "thermistor"
Responding to: ???'s previous message

Till now, I knew that Thermistors are used for measuring the temperature(based on change in resistance).

Like so many things, there are many different types of thermistors available - each designed for a different type of application.

The type of thermistor that you'd use for measuring temperature is not the type that you'd use for limiting inrush currents!

Just as the type of transistor that you'd use in a low-noise audio preamplifier is not the same as the type you'd use in the final power output stage - they're all transistors, but designed with different properties to suit different applications.
