Is the NTC used as "Surge Current Killer" (as the datasheet says)? Yes, of course - that is precisely why the datasheet says it! Never saw or heard of Thermistor being used for SMPS. As already noted, it is a very long-established and well-known technique for limiting startup current surges in any application! |
