#171218 - Are you assuming CC has to be passive? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

You must have a stabile, well-filtered, noise-free voltage source to make a good current source if you intend to rely on passive current control. If you start building dynamic analog regulation, you'll just end up building that stabile, well-filtered, noise-free voltage source first. It's not magic, but without a stabile, well-filtered, noise-free input, you'll not have a stabile, well-filtered, noise-free output, whether it's current or voltage that comes in.
RE Are you considering a constant current generator identical to the passive resistor normally used with a LED??? A CC IC is just like your voltage regulator IC. It has the analog regulation internally. It is not a stupid "passive current control", but will will actively adjust the dynamic resistance as needed to keep the current within the specified load and line regulations specified by the datasheet. |
